PEM Studios Melbourne's Online Voice Courses are well under way! Here are the current voice students in their second term after completing their first course last month. "PEM Voice is amazing. Every week my mind is being blown learning about the resonance system and how to make sound from a place of openness in my body. I’m left looking really forward to the next class and its really helped me get through lockdown as well! I wish I started sooner!" - Harrison Storm, Online PEM Voice Student

PEM Master Instructor Sarah Victoria has been teaching PEM to the BA of Acting and Theatre students at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in Melbourne. Here’s what she had to say about her first session with them: “I coached 40 VCA Victoria College of the Arts acting students in 4 hours online. It totally works! Amazing how they were all able to feel the emotion apparatus kick in and switch off in only one hour per group. Well done everybody! Great next steps and beautiful artistic steps that you all achieved!”

Glenda Linscott, Head of Acting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAPPA) had this to say about PEM from our recent workshop there: "There is much more focus on the health and well-being of the actor in our industry today and in the last decade many conservatoire training institutions around the world have been quick to take to the Perdekamp Emotional Method(PEM). PEMS is very easy for people to access, and a powerfully effective tool for actors to develop their craft for stage and film. I notice my students jumping into class work and rehearsals, giving much more [...]
On Sunday our very own Master Instructor Sarah Victoria and Instructor-in-Training Ella Crotty attended the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC)to conduct a PEM workshop with asylum seekers. We heard the deeply moving stories of these people who sought safety under horrifying circumstances. It was a profound day of connection; learning how to access emotions through our biology, and to release tensions and energies from the body. These are stories that must be heard, and we are very grateful to have helped these brave human beings to connect to their emotions and deliver their message.
