All of Kalliso’s instructors are certified by PEM developer Stephan Perdekamp and PEM Master Instructor Sarah Victoria.
Below are the only Certified PEM Instructors in the southern hemisphere.
Stephan Perdekamp
Stephan Perdekamp is a multi-talented artist known for his work as a director, actor, scriptwriter, and producer in Germany and Austria. He has authored 36 stage plays and has a strong focus on exploring physio-psychological and physio-social processes in his work. Perdekamp delves beneath the surface of culture to critique underlying pressures, taboos, and unspoken rules. His keen awareness of energetic processes within human bodies led to the development of his method, the Perdekamp Emotional Method (PEM).
In addition to his theatrical pursuits, Perdekamp has directed operas, movies, and theatre productions, and has worked as an actor and voice-over artist. Over the years, he has founded theatre companies and acting schools across the German speaking countries, as well as launching programs that offer business coaching in emotional communication. He is currently the director of the PEM Center Hamburg, which provides a variety of emotional health and acting programs, as well as functioning as an independent theatre.
Perdekamp’s plays have premiered in Germany and Austria, with many of them being revived multiple times. His acting method, PEM, which he developed between 1991 and 2004, received accreditation from the University of Vienna in 2004. PEM has since been widely adopted by actors, voice-over artists, singers, musicians, dancers, presenters, and artists across Europe and America.
Perdekamp’s work gained international recognition when his production of “Surviving Love” was invited to the Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City in 2011. His acting technique has been incorporated into the curricula of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and the Southampton Solent University since 2015. He has conducted PEM workshops at these institutions, as well as the University of Cluj in Romania.
Stephan Perdekamp’s contributions to acting training were acknowledged in 2016 when he was awarded a life membership at the esteemed Marwah Studios in India during his workshop tour through Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. He continues to teach master classes worldwide, including a 2-week intensive training at the National New Zealand Drama School: Toi Whakaari in 2017, and introducing PEM to Russian actors during a visit to Moscow.
The Perdekamp Emotional Method gained academic recognition at the 2017 VASTA conference in Singapore, an annual gathering of speech and voice professionals from around the world. Beyond Europe, PEM has established a presence in Melbourne, Australia, where PEM Master Instructor Sarah Victoria heads the PEM International Office. Masterclasses have taken place at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney and the Western Australian Academy of the Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Perth.
